Since 1964 Astrid Kirchherr worked as a freelance photographer,
and in the same year she and Max Scheler went to photograph The
Beatles at the filming of "A Hard Day's Night" for STERN magazine.
They took some of the best "behind the scenes" photo's of The Beatles
ever captured. Many of which can be seen in their book
"Golden
Dreams" and in 1968 she took the photograph for the cover
of "Wonderwall Music" by George Harrison.
In the 70`s
and 80`s photography became less important for Astrid. The movie
BACKBEAT (England 1994), based on Astrid's and Stuart's life and
love in Hamburg created a new interest for her historical photos.
Astrid Kirchherr
photos have been shown in Hamburg, Bremen, London, New York, Washington
D.C., Chicago, Los Angeles, Indianapolis, Tokyo, Vienna, and the
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
